Jurisdiction
Ethics complaints may be filed against city officials and employees for alleged violations of the City of Atlanta Standards of Conduct ("Code of Ethics") and against prohibited sources for violations of the ban on gratuities and failing to disclose financial and personal relationships with city employees and officials during the sealed bidding process for city business. The Code of Ethics is located in sections 2-801 to 2-825 of the City’s Code of Ordinances.

The Ethics Division accepts complaints including the following issues:
Anonymous Complaints
A complaint may be filed anonymously. It must state acts that constitute a violation of the Code of Ethics and provide sufficient specific facts that the allegations can be investigated. The Ethics Office on investigates complaints over which it has jurisdiction pursuant to the Code of Ethics.
Whistle-blower Protection
Officials and employees may not use or threaten to use official authority or influence to discourage persons from acting in good faith to report an ethical violation. In addition, officials and employees may not take action as a reprisal against an official or employees who reports or initiates a complaint.
